Travel
Travelling to and from France can be expensive
for most people on holiday and that every penny counts. We are listed
with Cheznous, and they offer discounts on ferries and travel if
you use their site to book your journey.
Which ever way you chose to travel you will need a car and a map.
Click on the thumbnail map below for a larger copy of a map of Bizanet
and surrounding area. Bizanet is in the centre of the map in red.
The village is very easy to get to as it it is
between the all the main roads and very close to Narbonne. We will
give you the address of the house when you book.
I have included some useful links to help you
get to Bizanet safely.
By Air
By taking advantage of the low cost airline,
Ryanair, Buzz and EasyJet you can be in Perpignan in under two hours.
These no-frills services depart mainly from Stansted or Luton (EasyJet)
to several Mediterranean destinations including Perpignan, Carcassonne
and Nimes. Flight time is under two hours, normally with a daily
service in each direction, and extra flights in high season.
By Car, Ferry and Eurotunnel
The drive to the Languedoc from England can by
anything up to fourteen hours, depending of course where you start
from. Luckily, most of the driving will be over motorways. These
are fast toll roads so be prepared with plenty of ready cash to
pay at the relevant exit points (payages). Be careful not to speed
between payges, they monitor your speed. On fast roads always leave
a 2 second gap between you and the car in front - it's the law.
There are many ferry companies that will take
you to France. See HoverSpeed
and Ferry

By Rail
If you don't fancy flying, or going by sea, the
other option is by rail. There are more than three hundred TGV trains
a day serving 200 French destinations. Taking the Eurostar from
Waterloo, or Ashford in Kent, you can make a connection at Lille
for Perpignan which is around an hours drive to Bizanet.
